Tomatoes are not the easiest fruit to cut. If you don't have the right knife, you will put too much pressure on the skin and end up with a squashed tomato. As its name suggests, the Wusthof Classic Ikon Tomato Knife is especially designed for this purpose.

The sharp serrated edges cut even ripe tomatoes with ease and the forked tip helps with serving. It will also double as a bar knife as it's great for slicing lemons, limes and for spearing cocktail onions or olives with its forked tip.

Wusthof's Ikon Knives are an exciting addition to the Wusthof range of products. Ikon Knives have a beautiful new design - with handles that were designed to have superior haptic qualities. Haptics is the study of sensing and manipulation through touch and the effects of the tactile interface between humans and tools.

This means that Ikon Knives will just feel good in your hand - and are comfortable to use for extended periods.

  • Precision-forged from a single blank of high carbon stainless steel
  • Full tang that is triple riveted to the handle for precise control
  • Precision Edge Technology (PEtec) yields a blade that is 20% sharper with twice the edge retention.
  • Tempered to 58º Rockwell
  • The half bolster allows for the knife to be honed and sharpened the entire length of the blade and the heel bolster provides added balance
  • Contoured handle for comfortable fit and a more contemporary appearance
  • Washing your knives by hand is recommended; then immediately drying them. Do not let your knives soak in water.
  • Avoid cleaners containing bleach or citrus extracts. They may stain the surface of your knives.
  • Always use a wooden cutting board to preserve blade sharpness. Cutting on hard surfaces such as stone, metal or glass quickly dulls blades.
  • To maintain a sharper cutting edge, use a sharpening steel, preferably each time after you've used a knife.
  • It's best to store your Wusthof knife so its edge and your fingers are protected, preferably in a block or in-drawer knife tray.
  • We suggest using a meat cleaver when you need to cut through bone, otherwise you can damage your knife blade.
  • Lifetime Wusthof guarantee against material and manufacturing defects, with normal use and proper care.
  • Made in Germany
