The Revol Basalt Collection gives you the look of natural slate with all the advantages of Revol Porcelain. Unique to Revol - the Basalt collection is made of culinary grade black porcelain paste with a design inspired by the roughness and shapes of natural slate. However unlike natural slate - Basalt porcelain does not scratch or chip and is non-porous so it does not absorb fat or bacteria, making it both food safe and environmentally friendly.
Revol porcelain is made of a secret mix that includes clay, quartz, feldspar and kaolin fired at ultra high temperatures which gives it the properties that make it unique. It can withstand both mechanical shock & thermal shock so it can go from refrigerator or freezer to oven to table (it has a working temperature range of -4°F to 572°F). It can also be used in a microwave and is dishwasher safe - for easy maintenance.
There is no cadmium or lead in Revol porcelain and it is non porous so it does not absorb fat, odors or bacteria - making it a safe, hygenic and natural product.
