These Revol Revolution Tagines are a beautiful interpretation of a traditional item of North African cookware. Tagines have been used in North African cooking for hundreds of years - and the shallow base combined with the fitted conical dome allow for long, slow cooking while circulating the moisture inside the vessel, so you don't need to open and stir the dish during cooking so that all the rich flavors are preserved.
The Revol Revolution Tagines have a shallow, ceramic which can be used to brown the ingredients on any type of cooktop (gas, electric and induction) while the ceramic, conical top fits perfectly onto the base stays far from the heat source - so stays cool to the touch and allows for continuous condensation inside the vessel.
These Tagines come with a white base, matte black cone and a brightly colored knob on top. Revol porcelain is made of a secret mix that includes clay, quartz, feldspar and kaolin fired at ultra high temperatures which gives it the properties that make it unique. It can withstand both mechanical shock & thermal shock so it can go from refrigerator or freezer to oven to table (it has a working temperature range of -4°F to 572°F). It can also be used in a microwave and is dishwasher safe - for easy maintenance.
There is no cadmium or lead in Revol porcelain and it is non porous so it does not absorb fat, odors or bacteria - making it a safe, hygenic and natural product.
