A Pie Crust Shield protects the outer crust edge of your pie while the entire pie bakes to perfection.
Have you ever despaired as all the work you have put into a pie goes to waste as the edge of your pie burns before the rest of the pie is fully cooked? If so a pie crust shield is the answer.
All you need to do is place the pie crust shield over the top of the unbaked pie before putting it in the oven. Make sure the shield fits snugly around the top of the pie crust. It should cover the entire outer crust to keep it from getting too brown. You should remove the shield for some of the baking time to ensure the crust edge gets golden brown. You can bake your pie following the recipe using normal baking times. Remove from the oven and let it cool as usual.
